Does the company need to supplement a detailed industry code when filing an application for opening another business location?

Expanding a business to multiple locations is a significant step toward growth and market reach. However, when filing an application for opening another business location, companies often face questions about the need to supplement a detailed industry code. This consideration holds vital implications for regulatory compliance and the seamless operation of new business sites. In this discussion, we will explore the necessity of providing a detailed industry code when applying to open additional business locations. Understanding this requirement is essential for businesses looking to expand their presence while adhering to legal and regulatory standards.

Question:

My company is a registered establishment in the field of operating multi-disciplinary, specialized, and dental clinics. It has been approved by the Department of Health to provide home healthcare services. Currently, the company wishes to open a business location that only offers home healthcare services (specifically blood testing at home). My company has already submitted the application to open the business location, but we have a question regarding whether we need to change the business field by adding the specific details under the business code “Home healthcare services” or if we should keep the current business field of multi-disciplinary, specialized, and dental clinics.

Response:

Decision No. 27/2018/QD-TTg dated July 6, 2018, issued by the Prime Minister, regulates the activities covered under business code 8620. This code includes the operation of multi-disciplinary, specialized, and dental clinics within the National Economic System of Vietnam. It includes the following subcodes: 86201 – Operation of multi-disciplinary and specialized clinics. This subgroup includes:

– Medical examination, treatment, counseling, and healthcare services in the field of multi-disciplinary and specialized healthcare, provided by doctors, healthcare experts, and surgeons;

– Activities of family planning centers that provide medical treatment such as sterilization or abortion, without accommodation facilities;

– These activities can be carried out in private clinics, clinics run by a group of doctors, and in clinics for outpatient hospital patients, nursing homes, labor organizations, as well as at the patient’s home;

– Personal counseling services for inpatients.

Companies operating in the field and profession covered by business code 8620 should refer to this information to ensure compliance with regulations.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the decision to supplement a detailed industry code when filing an application for opening another business location is a crucial aspect of the expansion process. Ensuring that the code accurately represents the nature of the business operations at the new location is vital for regulatory compliance and effective business management. By addressing this requirement with precision, companies can embark on their expansion journey confidently, navigating the regulatory landscape while maintaining a strong commitment to compliance and operational success.
